Don't Ask, Just Tell!

You may find yourself glancing over the BiGALA membership directory and saying to yourself, "Hey, where's Clancy Pants, that guy who lived down the hall from me in Dodd and always wore those fringed velour vests?" Or you might show up at the next BiGALA regional event wishing, "Oh please, let Mirabella be there-I always had such a crush on her. And that ear cuff, so phat!" While BiGALA is growing (our membership stands at 308), we suspect there are many alums out there who aren't aware of the group or who simply haven't taken the time to join.

We want to expand our membership so we can let more people know what BiGALA is up to, and we need your help. Because sexual orientation wasn't part of your Williams admissions application, there's no record of who might be interested in the group, so we're faced with a recruitment quandary: How do we tell people about BiGALA if we don't know who to tell? Here's what you can do:

  1. On the postage-paid card that came with your newsletter jot down your name and the names of alums you think might be interested in joining BiGALA. Drop the card in the mail, and we'll take care of contacting them to see if they are interested. IMPORTANT NOTE: For reasons of confidentiality, these cards are mailed to BiGALA and NOT the Alumni Office.
  2. Tell your friends to join. If you talk to alums who might be interested, guide them to our web site where they can join on-line, or have them contact a BiGALA Board member or the Alumni Office.

Thanks for your help in this outreach effort and look for your recruitment reward in the mail once we receive your card.
